US Bankruptcy Court Unclaimed Funds

Federal bankruptcy courts hold over $200 million in unpaid refunds and unclaimed distributions owed to bankruptcy creditors, those individuals and companies who are owed money by those who have filed for bankruptcy protection.  A record number of recent bankruptcy filings this year will increase this total dramatically.

Court-appointed bankruptcy trustees often aren't able to make an effort to locate those owed money, particularly if you're a creditor owed unclaimed funds from a bankruptcy filing in another state.

Because unclaimed funds arising from a bankruptcy filing come under the purview of the Federal Bankruptcy Court System, they will not show up in a search of your state unclaimed property database.

If you believe you are entitled to collect unclaimed funds from a bankruptcy filing, you must initiate a search with bankruptcy courts and trustees directly. Order our Special Report: Bankruptcy Court Unclaimed Funds
